RECIEVE THE TRUE GRACE

RECEIVE THE ‘TRUE GRACE’

There is a story about an evangelist who was taking his acts and words like two a parallel rails that never touch each other, in his life. He yelled out in a gospel convention held at a public place; ‘I am standing before you in god’s grace’. Suddenly a native foot ware vendor jumped up and shouted publicly; ‘You are standing not in god’s grace but a pair of shoes bought from my shop before three months. And its price has yet not been paid’.

This may be only a story. But this is pointing despondently to a few truths; first- the number of those thinking the grace of god as a permission to live according to their own mind is increasing!. Second- god’s name is being humiliated among the gentiles due to them!

It is in word of god that we see the word ‘grace’ in a particular meaning. ‘Grace’ is the one-word invented by the scripture writers when they had to denote the awesome power supplied by god to man to get those things done, that god demands them do.

But when we come to the last pages of the scripture, there we see an another usage- ‘true grace’( 1 PET: 5-12). Why Apostle Peter had to, find the another word ‘true grace’ leaving ‘grace’? the answer is found in the epistle of Jude. By that time, some people had trespassed into the church who considered grace as a means to live according to their own desire( Jude 4). Peter needed a new phrase to distinguish the real grace from the fake one- True grace.

If the spokes men of fake grace had trespassed into the church even from the first century it self, how extensive would be it’s influence today! How can one know true grace separately form duplicate one? Please note what apostle paul says ‘if you are under grace, sin will not rule over you( Rom: 6-14). Can’t we recognize the real grace using this criterion? Aren’t those who take sin and holiness in a simplified way, despising the grace that Jesus brought to this earth? (John 1:17)

Jude uses many synonyms to describe the hollow and unfertile life of such people…spots in feasts of charity,….clouds with out water, carried about of wind….wandering stars to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever,… trees whose fruits whithered, without fruit twice dead and plucked up by roots,..and so on . The face mark of all these is fruitlessness and essential ruin.

What is being reflected when you see your image in the mirror of god’s word?-An un humid cloud carried about of wind? a withered, fallen tree? A raging wave that makes foam of own shame? A wandering wicked star? Don’t be afraid, it is not too late but don’t be late hence. Do not use the grace of god as a support for a life of own desire. Realize that spirit of grace is humiliated, the precious blood that cleansed us is treated as nasty and the son of god is squashed under the feet, while doing so! Say goodbye to the fake grace. Receive the True grace heartily.
